Tips:

  1. You don't have to touch the disk directly to start dragging it. Touching anywhere within the tower area will automatically "pick up" its top most disk.
  2. Once the target tower gets highlighted, you can immediately release or drop the disk to that tower. No need to drag it farther.
  3. Check the pattern.

Trivia:

  1. There was a legend, in which this puzzle was inspired by, about Brahmin priests who were to move 64 golden disks (not just 8!). If the legend were true, and if the priests were able to move disks at a rate of one disk per second, it would take them roughly 585 billion years or 18,446,744,073,709,551,615 turns to finish!
  2. In the 2011 film Rise of the Planet of the Apes the puzzle, named in the film as the "Lucas Tower", was used as a test to study the intelligence of apes.
  3. The puzzle was featured as part of a reward challenge in a 2011 episode of the American version of the Survivor TV series.
  4. The very first player to be on this Leaderboard was Andrew W. who played in the 3-DISK level and solved it in 7 moves in 7 seconds on March 31, 2012.
